Welcome to GBA, Kris Osterwood! Meet our new Technical and Policy Director

kristen_o_headshot_crop_low_9975_2We are thrilled to welcome Kris to our team! She brings a deep knowledge of green building, experience with LEED and Energy Star certifications, and is LEED AP certified. We’re excited to be able to provide a greater level of service and take a larger part in public policy efforts with this valuable addition to our staff!

Passionate about doing work that helps make the world a better place, Kris’ interests lie in greening our aging infrastructure and enabling a more equitable and healthy environment. Kris will lead GBA’s efforts to provide technical green building assistance by working with owners, buildings, project teams, and businesses to help them take their existing and aspiring green projects to the next level. She will also take an active role in policy and advocacy at local and state levels to advance green buildings, policy conversations, and sustainable development.

Prior to joining GBA, Kris was a part of the team at 3R Building Sustainability, where she investigated the feasibility of large multifamily buildings to attain LEED certification. She determined their eligibility through Energy Star Portfolio Manager, and worked with engineers to create Energy Audit Reports cost benefit analyses. While earning her master’s degree, she coordinated outreach programs, data and collection analysis, Life Cycle Analyses, proposal and grant writing, and more.

Bonus: Kris recently renovated her home with the latest green best practices in mind. Be sure to say hi and ask her about that process when you see her around!
