We LOVE Our Members!

Really, we do. We are inspired by your dedication to creating a sustainable future for Western Pennsylvania that is socially just, economically viable, and environmentally responsible.

Thanks to our members and supporters, we are making positive, measurable change in our region — dramatically reducing energy use, water use, and carbon emissions throughout Pittsburgh; nurturing a culture of sustainability in our schools; advocating for stronger building codes and higher standards for healthy and high-performing buildings; and providing numerous opportunities to learn, share, and network among dedicated professionals like you. Now more than ever, we must continue this vital work together.

Thank you all (businesses and individuals) who joined or renewed during our fall membership drive, and congratulations to the four gift card prize winners who were randomly selected. Each of our four membership drive prize drawing winners chose a Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurant partner for their gift card and shared why they value their GBA membership.

Isabel Marques, Biomark, LLC, won the $375 gift card and chose the big Burrito Restaurant Group.

“Being a part of GBA embodies my professional views of seeking new sustainable solutions, as well as learning about existing ones, to decrease our level of impact to the environment with special emphasis in the building sector. It is difficult to describe in a few words how important GBA is for Pittsburgh, the region, the environment, and for all GBA members.”

Gary Moshier, Moshier Studios, won the $150 gift card and chose Six Penn Kitchen.

“We value being part of GBA for all the great work that they do in advocacy and education. As the premiere Green Building organization in the region, we know we can count on GBA to be leading the charge and also providing the tools for change.”

Jennifer Szczesniak, Perfido Weiskopf Wagstaff + Goettel, won the $75 gift card and chose Umi.

“We’re using our GBA membership and events to stay on top of rapid changes in the areas of sustainable practices, products, and initiatives. Our GBA members bring that information to the other architects and younger interns here at PWWG, to engage more deeply with sustainability in our design projects and in our workplace.”

Reed McManigle, Carnegie Mellon University, won the $50 card for the Big Burrito Restaurant Group.

Thanks again to all of our members. Your work is inspiring, and we appreciate all that you do! If you are not currently a GBA member, join us or renew your membership today.
