ILFI Convening Summit with Sustainable Pittsburgh and Green Building Alliance

ILFI Living Product Expo attendees are invited to join Green Building Alliance and Sustainable Pittsburgh for this Convening Summit for thoughtful conversation and idea-sharing.

The Pittsburgh region is renowned for its legacy of repeated economic transformation. Once the hub of heavy manufacturing, the region has spent the past 30 years recovering from production processes that left a toxic legacy. As part of its recent ascent, Southwestern Pennsylvania has grown remarkable skill sets and capabilities that are rooted in sustainable practices, including those in high tech manufacturing, construction, community development, design, engineering, medicine, science, management, education, governance and leadership. These investments have already begun to generate regional-scale benefits that positions the region as a model for how sustainability can function as an economic development strategy.

The next chapter involves going deeper: Much of the Expo has been about an evolving ecosystem where entrepreneurship, advanced design, and sustainability converge. This convergence positions manufacturing to build sustainability-oriented, high-value-added market opportunities.

Come to this “Convening Summit” to share your ideas and suggestions during focused conversations on seeding the process of what comes next from Pittsburgh’s hosting the Living Product Expo. Sustainable Pittsburgh’s Matt Mehalik and GBA’s Aurora Sharrard will moderate.
