Tour the new Energy Innovation Center

Built in 1930, the historic former Connelly Trade School Building is getting new life as the Energy Innovation Center (EIC).  Located across from Consol Energy Center, the EIC has nearly completed LEED-platinum renovations and prepares to open as an early-stage business incubator and site for hands-on workforce training programs with education partners from across the region.

The tour will give you a behind-the scenes look at:

  • The state-of-the-art mechanical systems that can be used as working classrooms
  • An overview of the co-located, collaborative university-industry projects
  • Proof-of-concept energy technology demonstration laboratories
  • What it takes to bring an 85-year-old building up to LEED platinum standards while meeting requirements of the National Register of Historic Places
