Are you one of the many people who likes the idea of geothermal energy but doesn’t yet know about the types or the components of successful systems?

Lunch will be provided by Terra Building Group.
Brett Robinson has a track record of success in the green building and geothermal fields. With a passion and talent for the field of sustainable construction, he entered college to pursue a degree in Energy Technology. The program was cutting-edge and in many respects ahead of market demand for sustainable building technology. Thus, the program was cancelled after one year, but an undaunted Brett geared his education toward engineering. In the fall of 1984 he took a position with a multi-billion dollar per year commercial contractor in the Washington, D.C. area as an assistant engineer, and over the following ten years added to his professional skill-set through positions as an engineer, head engineer, chief engineer, and division manager for large commercial construction firms. His love for sustainable residential construction prompted him to return to the Pittsburgh area in 1994. He started a residential building business that year and a geothermal residential community the next year. Since then Brett has continued to increase his knowledge of the sustainable building industry, and today he is able to offer homes that are more energy efficient, are stronger, have superior quality, are constructed more quickly, and offer more value than the competition.
As the only 100% LEED certified production home builder in the region, the Terra Building Group provides a two-pronged approach to residential new-home construction. The first serves the single-family sector through custom designed single-story, cape, and two-story Energy Star and LEED-certified floor plans. The single-family offering is targeted at urban, suburban, and rural locations where lot constraints are not a factor. The second serves the urban infill sector. This product offering is designed for narrow and small lots in city, suburban, or rural settings where lot size is a factor. The urban infill product is also Energy Star and LEED-certified and may be joined in multi-family configurations.
