This residential complex consists of three apartment-style residence halls. Features include two permeable gravel parking lots, a recycled rubber roof, geothermal wells and ground-source heat pumps. Low-flow fixtures contribute to a 43% reduction in water use. A green building education program is supported by student-generated reports and posters.

Sustainable Sites

The facilities are near bus line that loops the campus with two bus lines within a 1/4 mile. The complex provides covered bicycle storage for 15% of residents.

Water Efficiency

Low flow fixtures contribute to a 43% water use reduction. Two geo-web permeable gravel parking lots have been constructed, helping maintain stormwater runoff.

Energy & Atmosphere

Geothermal wells and ground source heat pumps have been constructed for heating.

Materials & Resources

The roofing of the building is made of recycled rubber. Two geo-web permeable gravel parking lots exist as well.

Indoor Environmental Quality

Low emitting materials were used throughout the space for finishes.
