Pittsburgh Emerging Professionals ADVANCE-ing USGBC’s Mission

From June 28-July 1, 2015, GBA’s Emerging Professionals members Lynn Abdouni and Cassie Treshok represented the Pittsburgh region at U.S. Green Building Council’s Convergence conference in San Diego, California.

During the coming year, Lynn and Cassie will serve on the USGBC’s Emerging Professionals National Committee to usher in a new program called ADVANCE.  The initiative seeks to broaden USGBC’s mission of “green buildings for all” by making resources and expertise available to broader community-based organizations such as nonprofits, schools, and social service groups, with USGBC staff conducting trainings for interested parties. The sessions at Convergence provided Lynn and Cassie with the skills necessary to launch ADVANCE for USGBC in the Northeast region of the United States.
