Pittsburgh 2030 District wins Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence

Governors-Award-2016-logo-2Since 2012, we at Green Building Alliance (GBA) have been quietly – and sometimes vocally – supporting building owners and facility managers in both Downtown and Oakland as they pursue aggressive energy, water, and transportation reduction goals. Earlier this week, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection announced that our efforts are being recognized throughout the Commonwealth with the Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence. GBA is thrilled to share this prestigious award and tremendous honor with the District’s 85 Property Partners, representing 435 buildings and almost 68 million square feet – as well as with our more than 50 Community and Resource Partners and Sponsors – who are collaboratively driving the economic vitality of Pittsburgh while improving each building’s performance through smart investment choices. We all win.

The Pittsburgh 2030 District, which is a leader among 12 international District cities, is making Pittsburgh a more economically viable, healthier place to live, work, and play for everyone. Together, we are creating the city where we all want to live. We can’t wait to showcase our 2015 progress at our annual Progress Report Reception on April 28. Go Pittsburgh!
