The Green Corner Symposium Series Kick-off: How to Apply Innovation for Sustainability at Eden Hall’s Sustainable Campus

The Green Corner Series kicks off at the beautiful Eden Hall Campus!






The German American Chamber of Commerce, Pittsburgh Chapter kicks off the Green Corner Symposium Series at Eden Hall’s beautiful and completely sustainable campus! Please join us and a panel of experts to discuss how to apply innovation for sustainability, with the Green Building Alliance as the moderator and companies like IBACOS as our panelists!

Eden Hall will provide the introduction and tours. 

The event will also feature a Farm-to-Table dinner, so don’t miss out on this incredibly “green” evening!

Green Corner Symposium Series Panel Speakers:

Dr. Peter Walker– Eden Hall, Chatham University- Dean of the Falk School of Sustainability

Peter has worked for more than 25 years on issues of humanitarian crises, sustainability and climate change in various countries, including the Sudan, Ethiopia, Iran, Pakistan and Somalia. At Tufts University, he has been director of the Feinstein International Center since 2002, the Rosenberg Professor of Nutrition and Human Security since 2007, and associate provost since early 2014.

Jens Sonntag- Vice President, Engineering, A3- USA, Inc.

Jens has held several positions in the municipal wastewater field including process engineer, design engineer, project engineer and project manager.Prior to starting A3-USA in 2007, he had been working for a municipal consulting engineering firm as a project manager. Jens holds a B.S. and M.S. in environmental engineering from RWTH Aachen University (Aachen, Germany), and an M.B.A. from Robert Morris University (Pittsburgh, PA).

Anthony Grisolia, IBACOS– Director, Product Innovation

Anthony is Director of Product Innovation, overseeing IBACOS consulting activities and services for product and material manufacturers, including technical services and testing for existing products, development of new products and markets, and evaluation of product opportunities.

Ari Rapport, IBACOS– Program Manager, Homes That Give Back

Ari leads IBACOS’ Homes That Give Back initiative, which is focused on changing the way homes are designed, constructed, and delivered. This vision is based on IABCOS’ fundamental belief that all homes must be safe, healthy, durable, comfortable, efficient, responsible, connected, and affordable. Ari also partners with state and federal governments and other industry stakeholders to research, develop and integrate new building technologies and methods into the homebuilding industry.


Aurora Sharrard, PhD, LEED AP BD+C– Executive Director and VP of Innovation, Green Building Alliance

As GBA’s Executive Director, Dr. Aurora Sharrard leads the organization in achieving its mission of inspiring the creation of healthy, high performing places for everyone through leadership that connects knowledge, transformative ideas, and collaborative action.

In her GBA tenure, Aurora notably co-founded the Pittsburgh 2030 District, wherein buildings in Downtown Pittsburgh and Oakland aspire towards measured high performance of 50% reductions in energy use, water consumption, and transportation emissions by the year 2030, cementing Pittsburgh as a national leader in healthy and high performing places. She also provides broad and deep technical support to innumerable local green building projects, most notably the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Phipps Conservatory Center for Sustainable Landscapes, and Lower Hill Redevelopment.
