Sustainability for Us: Sustainable Community Case Studies
August 4 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDTFree
This is Part 2 of our three-part series on “Sustainability for You, for Us for All” which is being presented in the spirit of our Inspire Speakers Series. Various communities throughout our region have attempted equitable, sustainable development over the years. On this Zoom session, we will learn about some of these communities and their strategies and ask: Where are they now? What successes, challenges, and lessons learned can they share with other community leaders and advocates who are attempting to implement sustainable community frameworks and achieve sustainable and equitable development on a local scale? We will hear about communities at different stages in their journeys and hear about their experiences, as well as how the intersections of climate, equity and health are being felt within their neighborhoods.
Community members who will share their experiences, successes, lessons learned and help guide the conversation will include:
- Donna Jackson, Larimer
- Zaheen Hussain, Millvale
- Brittany Reno, Sharpsburg
- Daniel Rossi-Keen, Beaver County
We will host this session during lunchtime and are offering a complementary lunch delivery (by a local restaurant) to the first 10 people who sign up for this event! Please bring your own questions, experiences and ideas to the conversation.
This event will be hosted over Zoom, and we will send event details and the Zoom link to registered participants prior to the event.
We hope to see you there! Stay tuned for Part 3 of this series!
