Integrated Pest Management in Schools: Laurel Highlands

November 15, 2017 @ 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm EST

Free – $20

Please consider attending one of the other IPM Trainings in Pittsburgh on November 16th and Erie on November 17th.

Mice, roaches, wasps, ants, drain flies and even bed bugs will find their way into schools. Many of these pests are basically maintenance and exclusion issues. An ounce of pest prevention is worth a pound of cure and “crisis management”!

What is your strategic plan for preventing and mitigating pests safely and effectively?

How will you work with your school team and communicate with staff, teachers, students and parents about these issues?

Through discussion, demonstrations and walk-through exercise, this training will assist facilities managers:

  • Understand a school building from a “pest-eye” view
  • Prioritize easy pest exclusion and prevention tactics
  • Work with pest control contractors more effectively
  • Distinguish different pesticide tools appropriate for schools
  • Comply with state IPM requirements for schools
  • Communicate with your school team on pest and pesticide issues
  • Proactively develop plans for dealing with bed bug introductions
