Mice, roaches, wasps, ants, drain flies and even bed bugs will find their way into schools. Many of these pests are basically maintenance and exclusion issues. An ounce of pest prevention is worth a pound of cure and “crisis management”!

Dion is the Environmental Health Programs Specialist for the Pennsylvania Integrated Pest Management Program in Philadelphia. Since 2007, he has conducted outreach and education projects on improving pest management, and health and safety, community-wide. Dion is an Associate Certified Entomologist and a certified Healthy Homes Specialist and leads Healthy Homes and IPM trainings for residents, property managers, childcare providers and schools, pest control operators, and public/community health workers across the region and nation. Dion is a licensed pesticide applicator (PA # 705688). He is Keystone STARS-certified to instruct childcare providers, and deliver the EcoHealthy Childcare program.
