Charles “Chip” Osborne, Jr., professional horticulturalist for 35 years and founder and president of Osborne Organics, LLC, has more than 10 years of experience creating safe, sustainable and healthy athletic fields and landscapes through natural turf management. As a wholesale and retail nurseryman, Osborne gained a wealth of first-hand experience with the pesticides, herbicides and fungicides routinely used in the landscape and horticultural industry, and was inspired to find safer alternatives. As a result of his own investigation, study of conventional and organic soil science practices, and hands-on experimentation, he has since become a leading expert on growing sustainable, natural turf.
