Erie County Energy Efficiency Call to Action: Featuring the New LEED Erie Insurance Training Center and Erie Art Museum
January 28, 2016 @ 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm EST
Come learn about two of Erie’s highest performing, most innovative buildings, learn what others in the region are doing to answer the call to action for increased energy efficiency.
Join the NWPA branch of Green Building Alliance to tour Erie Insurance’s new Technical Learning Center, one of the region’s most innovative new buildings. This state-of-the-art training center achieved LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification for new construction and applied sustainable practices like recycled content, regional materials, increased indoor ventilation, and innovation in design. The building’s project team also prioritized regionally specific goals like stormwater design and reduced heat island effect. This training center not only represents the company’s commitment to customer quality and employee education, but also a commitment to energy efficiency, healthy indoor spaces, and responsible use of land and materials.
Our event will start at the new training center where we’ll learn about the space and also hear what others in the region are doing to achieve energy efficiency, and why it’s important. Following a tour of the training center, we’ll enjoy a reception at the Erie Art Museum, another LEED Gold certified building (learn more about Erie Art Museum’s efficiency and sustainability measures here) and local leader in energy efficiency.
