Passive House Tour with the Emerging Professionals
August 15, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm EDT
Join the GBA’s Emerging Professionals for a tour of the Passive House in Squirrel Hill!
On August 15th at 5:30, the GBA Emerging Professionals will host a tour of the completed Passive House owned by Lucyna de Barbaro and Ayres Freitas. Lucy and Ayres will share in-depth information about their goals for the project, material selection, passive strategies, and victories and challenges they faced while completing this project. Lucy and Ayres have given tours of their homes at all levels of construction and completion, and are excited to continue to share their Passive House with others.
A passive building involves extreme energy efficiency (targeting 60-70% energy use reduction) and performance verification that is proven through an air tightness test with rigorous passing standards. This particular home also features a green roof, permeable pavement, rainwater catchment, durable and environmentally-friendly materials, and more
