Emerald Evening 2016
September 15, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm EDT
GBA is proud to celebrate over two decades of inspiring the creation of our region’s healthy and high performing spaces – and the people who make them possible – at Emerald Evening 2016. More than 300 friends helped us celebrate last year…will you join us this year?
We have a special evening planned on Thursday, September 15 at Carnegie Museum’s Music Hall. Our Emerald Evening: Legacy & Luminary Awards will feature a cocktail hour, Legacy & Luminary Awards ceremony, dinner gala, and dessert reception.
We’re proud to honor Dr. Jared L. Cohon, president emeritus of Carnegie Mellon University, with our Legacy Award. As CMU’s third-longest president (with a 16-year tenure) and the current director of its Scott Institute for Energy Innovation, Dr. Cohon has been a devoted catalyst for the university’s energy efficiency and sustainability policies, practices, and successes. He is also a national authority on environmental and water resource systems analysis, as well as the author, co-author, or editor of more than 80 professional publications. There’s so much more to tell you about Dr. Cohon – stay tuned for a blog post, coming soon!
In addition to the Legacy Award, we will also present a Luminary Award to recognize an individual who works diligently, mostly behind the scenes, to advance regional green building practices. We’ll share the name of this year’s Luminary Award honoree in a few weeks.
*Please register for this event by Friday, September 9.
Sponsorships are closed, but individual tickets are still available!
Sponsorship of GBA’s Emerald Evening demonstrates your company’s commitment to growing our region’s green building leadership role and garners recognition among like-minded businesses, organizations, and individuals.
We are implementing some exciting changes this year:
*To allow more time for networking and provide a more relaxed, open atmosphere, we will host a stationed (as opposed to seated) dinner.
*A new annual magazine will replace our traditional Emerald Evening program, featuring timely content and inspiring stories about our region’s built environment. Unlike an event program with a very short shelf life, the magazine will be relevant for a full year and appeal to a broad audience. Advertisements purchased with or separate from sponsorships will be included in the publication, which will be distributed to GBA stakeholders at appropriate events and meetings throughout the year.
We look forward to celebrating with you at Emerald Evening!
