Advanced Indoor Air Quality Management in Schools

Sharpen your indoor air quality management skills with this in-depth look at some of the key components of IAQ and more advanced ways of identifying and addressing them. The core topics will be on building science, moisture, filtration, and diagnostic tools and devices that can help.
Joe Hughes, Indoor Air Quality Institute, IAQ Radio – Mr. Hughes is the President of IAQ Training Institute, LLC (IAQTI) and Co-host of IAQ Radio. IAQTI provides environmental consulting, training and media services from Central City, Pennsylvania, and also produces “IAQ Radio” (www.iaqradio.com) a weekly interactive pod-cast on IAQ, disaster restoration, home performance and building science issues. As co-host of IAQ Radio for over ten years, “Radio Joe” has interviewed many of the top IAQ, building science, and disaster restoration experts in the world. With almost 30 years of experience as an environmental health & safety consultant and educator, Joe has presented to hundreds of associations and other organizations interested in learning about healthy indoor environments and environmental health & safety.
Andy Komar, Filtech, Inc. – Andy is Vice President of Sales at Filtech Inc., an independently owned filtration distributor, located in West Homestead, PA, that was founded in 1969. Andy has provided numerous training seminars, lunch and learns, and accredited training programs on filtration in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia, with an emphasis on HVAC Air Filtration and the removal of airborne contaminants. Filtech Inc. and /or Andy Komar have been active, local members of ASHRAE, GBA, ACCWPA, NAPE, and BOMA.
Bill Spohn, TruTech Tools – Bill is President, CEO and majority owner of TruTech Tools, LTD. Bill has designed, marketed and sold a wide array of test and measurement products in the last twenty-five years. Bill was design-engineering manager at Bacharach, Inc. for 10 years and HVAC Product Marketing Manager at Testo, Inc. for 10 years. He regularly teaches and writes on technically complex topics to a wide range of audiences on the applications of testing and measurement instrumentation in building science, healthy homes, Indoor Air Quality, weatherization, and HVACR.
1) Understand the relationship between building science, moisture management, and good IAQ.
2) Learn core concepts of airborne contaminant removal with filtration, including the difference between particulate and molecular filtration.
3) Know what diagnostic tools are available and how they can be utilized to create actionable information to improve IAQ.

Lunch will be provided for all attendees.
