What a night! We were thrilled to welcome 350 of our friends, partners, and supporters last Thursday for an evening of networking and camaraderie.
It was wonderful to toast each other, share a delicious meal, and honor the wonderful work being done to create healthy and high-performing spaces in our region! We enjoyed live music throughout the night, as well as beautiful dance performances from Bodiography – and we capped the evening off with more networking and delicious desserts under the amazing canopy of the Carnegie Music Hall Foyer.
A Legacy and a Luminary
We were very pleased to honor Phipps Conservatory’s Richard Piacentini for his green building leadership – not only in our region – but around the world. When he accepted his award, Richard joked that such “Legacy” awards are usually reserved for those at the end of their careers, but he said he’s just getting started…and we believe him! We can’t wait to see what Richard and his team at Phipps have planned for the future.
Meanwhile, we were very excited to finally announce the winner of our “people’s choice” Luminary Award. There were four finalists – Fred Brown of the Kingsley Association, Angelica Ciranni of PNC Financial Services Group, Laura Nettleton of Thoughtful Balance, and Doreen Petri of the Erie School District. We received thousands of votes during our public voting period and it was a really close race! But the public did indeed select our winner and it was…Doreen! When she accepted her award, Doreen reminded us all how important it is to teach children about sustainability because they are not only the leaders of tomorrow, but because they are very effective at influencing the adults in their lives today! We are grateful for Doreen’s work in the Erie School District.
Congratulations to Richard, Doreen, and all our Luminary Award nominees and finalists!
