Aylssa P. Lyon is currently the Sustainable Communities Director at the Green Building Alliance, she believes that neighborhoods function best when they’re are provided with equitable resourcing opportunities, contain economically thriving businesses & organizations, and are successful at producing and retaining inhabitants who are prideful of their living spaces & fellow residents. Outside of the professional realm, Alyssa remains active in community-oriented events throughout Pittsburgh.
Alyssa simultaneously chairs the Licensure and Inspection Review and the Micro-Enterprise Review Loan Committee for the City of Pittsburgh and URA; and holds a board positon with the Pittsburgh Chapter of the NAACP. Additionally, Alyssa was recognized as a WHIRL Magazine fellow of the 2018 class of 20 in their 20’s Making a Difference within the City of Pittsburgh, PUMP’s 40 Under 40 Honoree and the Incline’s Who’s next in Community Activism, 2019 Pittsburgh Courier Fab 40 Honoree and a 2019 recipient of the Get Involved! Western PA Rising Star Award, presented and sponsored by County Councilman Tom Baker. Alyssa is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated; representing an organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members with a primary focus on public service within African American communities.
Alyssa P. Lyon graduated with a Masters of Public Management from Carnegie Mellon in 2017 and also received a Bachelor’s in Communications and Africana Studies from the University of Pittsburgh in 2012.
