Janel is responsible for the planning and implementation of all GBA’s event and programming-related initiatives. In collaboration with the organization’s managers, she develops education and training programs for Membership, DASH, Pittsburgh 2030 District, Green Schools, and the Knowledge Network. She also responds to inquiries about green building issues, products, and services.
Prior to joining GBA, Janel worked as an interior designer at McCormick Architects and SR Design Group (Greensboro, NC), where she gained five years of project management experience in commercial and residential design. While finishing her education, she was also the LEED project administrator for a community design-build project. Since moving to Pittsburgh, she has been involved with the American Society of Interior Designers and International Interior Design Association, for whom she has organized programs and events.
Janel holds a B.S. in Interior Architecture from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and studied Architecture at The New School: Parson’s School of Design in New York.
