Brian cultivates an engaging learning environment by assisting in the delivery of GBA’s Green & Healthy Schools Academy, in addition to supporting all GBA educational events. With an eye towards equity and collaboration, he activates new community partners and connects our diverse stakeholder base to developing opportunities. Brian also tracks regional and state policy progress.
Brian has a rich background in nonprofit work, specializing in grassroots advocacy and social justice. Most recently, Brian worked as a community and youth organizer for Pittsburgh and DC nonprofits, where he fostered key relationships between the government and the public while coordinating successful outreach programs and grant proposals. Brian also served as the Youth Equity and Access Associate in the office of Mayor Peduto. When not attending neighborhood meetings, he can be founding biking the river trails and teaching Capoeira classes. Because who doesn’t want to dance and perform martial arts simultaneously?
Brian is the Vice President of the August Wilson House Board of Directors, and serves on the board of the Hill District Consensus Group. He is also a fellow in NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania Leadership Development Program.
