Michael Barnard, P.E., LEED AP BD+C

As a project director for Oxford Development Company, Mike leads and executes all aspects of a wide variety of development and owner’s representative projects from their inception to turnover and client occupancy. On staff there since 2006, he has worked with diverse clients and teams overseeing complete building processes to deliver exceptional and sustainable working and living environments. His projects include major sports, education, performing arts, commercial, entertainment, residential, and transportation facilities with a total construction value of over $1 billion.

Mike served as owner’s representative for the design and construction of the $321 million LEED Gold PPG Paints Arena (formerly CONSOL Energy Center), as well as various projects for the LEED Platinum David L. Lawrence Convention Center. He is currently the owner’s representative for Pittsburgh’s 178-acre brownfield redevelopment, Hazelwood Green (formerly Almono), and has managed construction projects in Oxford’s own portfolio, including Hot Metal Flats (a 117-unit apartment complex) and The Hub at 3 Crossings (a 590-space multimodal facility).

A Professional Engineer licensed in the state of Pennsylvania and a LEED Accredited Professional, Mike is the Pittsburgh affiliate chair for the ACE Mentor Program and vice-chair of Pittsburgh Allegheny County Thermal (PACT). He also serves as chair of Oxford’s sustainability committee and has long been involved with the Green Building Alliance and its Pittsburgh 2030 District efforts. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
