A 19-year career professional in the environmental, health and safety (EH&S) industry, James is the manager, sustainability marketing initiatives, for PPG Industries. His primary responsibility is to increase PPG’s value as a resource for sustainable design by creating awareness of the company’s environmentally beneficial products, identifying new trends and opportunities, and translating them into new products and services for green architecture, design and construction.
James has previously held consulting and marketing positions with the architectural firm of L. Robert Kimball & Associates, Inc. and international safety product manufacturer Draeger Safety, Inc. As an environmental project manager with Kimball, he supported services to new builds and renovations, among other EH&S projects. As respiratory product manager for Draeger’s NAFTA region, James marketed and developed products to meet industrial, construction, and first responder respiratory protection needs. During this time, he participated in chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) respiratory standards development.
James is a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), as administered by the Institute for Professional Environmental Practice, and a LEED AP as administered by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). He earned a B.S. in Environmental Science from Slippery Rock University and an M.S. in Environmental Management from the Bayer School of Natural & Environmental Sciences at Duquesne University.
