USG (United States Gypsum) Aliquippa Board Plant

Aliquippa, PA 15001
August 8, 2012
8:00 am - 10:00 am
Discover how gypsum board (drywall) is made at our local USG plant!
Program Overview
USG has a long history of manufacturing products with low-environmental impact materials and technologies. Find out what goes into producing gypsum board at our local USG plant in Alliquippa and measures are they using to insure that they are affecting the environment as little as possible. USG staff will give a presentation answering some of those questions, followed by a tour through their manufacturing facility.
SAFETY: Personal safety is a core value / #1 priority with USG. Attendees touring must comply with USG’s manufacturing dress code. There’s a lot of moving machinery that can catch jewelry, neck ties, etc. and guest safety is our priority as well.
The plant dress code is straightforward and easy:
- Pants: Long pants only. No shorts or skirts allowed. I recommend blue jeans.
- Shoes: No high heels, open toes or tennis shoes / sneakers.
- Jewelry: None. No rings, ear rings, chains, necklaces, etc.
- No neck ties.
*Unfortunately we can not allow direct competitors on this tour due to the sensitivity of the design and production of the product. Thanks!
